Status of Project
Low Vision Readers will have a rechargeable battery which lasts on the order of 7 hours between charges. The first prototype was as bright as small flashlight. The currently planned version of the glasses give off the equivalent of TV studio lighting, a massive improvement over the initial design. Those with low vision realize that the more light the better with reading.
- Will be available without a prescription
- Will be available in 2 powers for moderate low vision and severe low vision
- Cost of the device is still being researched, but they will be more affordable than a standard set of bifocals.
Currently, we are working with manufacturers on a production prototype. The best estimation on a release date is summer of 2010.
